TRASH CLOSET

AMSTERDAM.

Big, monumental cabinet, made of furniture that was found on the streets of Amsterdam.

Mainly oak (90%), with pine and beech. In the US alone, nearly 10 million tons of furniture ends up on landfills annually, and is the least recycled category of waste.

Sander Lucas and Marijke Lucas-Geurts, both graduates from Design Academy Eindhoven. Sander works for his own collection, designs and sets up exhibitions (for i.e. Design Academy Eindhoven and the Technical University of Eindhoven) and coaches design students. Marijke was senior graphic designer at ELLE Decoration and the annual design event Inside Design Amsterdam
