LAS VEGAS.
Zappos.com, the online clothing and shoe retailer that loves to spread cheer, recognizes how hectic holiday travel can be. People want joy and happiness around the holidays, not long lines and frustrating delays. That’s why on Wednesday, November 27th- the day before Thanksgiving and one of the busiest travel days of the year – Zappos transformed holiday travel into a delightful experience at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) in Houston, TX.
“We have a reputation for WOWing our customers at unexpected times, and what better time to surprise them than at the baggage claim after a long flight home,” said Catherine Cook, PR Manager at Zappos. “We’re doing something fun and exciting and while I can’t give too much away, I can tell you that travelers will be going home with more than just their luggage.”
More than 20,000 people traveled through IAH, the 8th busiest airport in North America on Wednesday, November 27th. The planned surprise was Zappos’ quirky way of saying “thanks” to Houston for being such great brand zealots—which goes to prove that Thanksgiving travel isn’t so bad when you do it the Zappos way—unless of course, you’re a turkey.
